I Met My Enemy. [Complete]

Hmph..Cora managed to get out as her family and her arrived into the middle of the new town they got to..They always had to move around..And recently, its been constant. Also among the same town. Just before theyd been switching back and forth between central and a side markettown...Thank god she knew that this time shed stay here longer than those places..

We'll be around the corner, meet us there for supper...Her father told her as he took her bag, she liked having a close to limitless freedom to explore..And she took that as an advantage.

Holden had been living in East City since his mom died an dhis dad was hospitalized. He spend alot of time studying alchemy, but, his aunt made him take breaks between study sessions to clear his mind. He came strolling out of an alley when he noticed a girl, he hadnt seen her around before and he knew everyone that live here so, he decided to make acquantainces. He ran towards her Hii he waved his hand in the air furiously.

Cora was just about to slip into a trance when she dazed at the sky above this town...SHe twirled once, turning around to a surprize.. The sudden appearence of the person in front of her starled her greatly, she epped and leaned back from the entusiastic person with the widest eyes..
Noticing and snapping out of her scare...The boy was still waving at her..She slowly grabbed his hand, holding it still and smiled...Um hello there?

Holden pulled his hand from her grasp, put it in his pocket. Your new here..right? he itched his head with his other hand, which had a book of alchemy in it. I havent seen you around here before he stared into her eyes and i know everyone around here

She quietly nodded to his assumtion, then eyeballed the book in his hand for a moment, snapping right back to reality...

She winked charmingly at him, I bet u do everyone here. putting some emphasis on the word everyone. And then she stepped back, trying not to act to friendly. So...Whats ur name?

Oh, Me? he switch the book to the other hand and wiped the sweat off his other. Im Holden Caulfield then he stuck his hand out for a hand shake. Holden didnt get along with to many girl, they considered him a nerd. Except for this one girl Jane, Jane Gallagher, she was really the only girl he ever got to know, they dated for a while, but, she was an army brat so when her parents moved..she did as well.

Holden....Caulfield..she slowly reapeat after him...She saw his hand, waiting to be held with hers for a moment...SHe smiled and suddenly took it, and shook it furiously, wasnt much effort on her part, but i made someones arm almost hurt..Innocently, she giggled...not saying anything else..

After she was done viciously thrawling his arm around he put it in his pocket for some rest. So he said painfully, for a girl she had a vicelike grip I didnt catch your name he smiled, her giggle echod through his head, it made him feel charming. He began to move his shoulder in small rotations to ease the pain, trying not to let the girl know she hurt his arm.

She froze in her glee, noticing she had been to modest about names..Cora stood silent for moments, staring at Holden...she pursed her lip..Hmm...she started while looking around, it was a bit shady where they were, it was bothering her...O, ill tell u my name....she playfully smirked..if u can keep up with me to hear it..Quickly she started with a step onto the side street, walking fast in pace and glancing back.

Holden stood there for a moment and watched as she skipped away Uuuh he looked around as if everyone was watching him. He then closed his eyes and began to jump up and down in place, he wasnt suppose to leave the general area, his aunts instructions, but, he did anyways. He took off running in her direction Alright Alrught, Slow Down

She turned around, walking backwards now and giggled at his slight struggle..And tho has call was clear to her, she teased and pretended she couldnt hear him, and held her hand to her ear, as if she was trying to hear. Along with she made her way to the edge of the side street, balancing on the long alignment of stubs that separate the road from walking way.

Holden was running after her, exhausted, and saw her making faces at him. He stopped where he was sat down on the floor and turned his back to her Fine meanie he crossed his arms to match how he was sitting an put his head down. Holden didnt like to chase people in the first place and now this girl who hoodwinked him out of his name was trying to get him to run to learn hers.

SHe continued to giggle until she saw him stop and stubbornly sit down..SHe quietly tip-toed near him..seeing what looked like a curled up kid with a secret..Silent for a moment..Cora noticed the book still in Holden's hand..she smiled a cat's smile and qucikly snatched the book from him...Oh..She said in awe.

Holden quickly stood up when the girl snatched th book from his hand. Hey give that back he reached for the book, but, she was to far away for him to snatchit back. Gimme it, thats my moms he felt like he was about to cry and his face showed it too.

As Cora heard the semi-frantic comment about the book being his moms, her mind went blank...Mom?...Well it was enough to stop, it seemed like it was a step too far..SHe took a step back and held the book to the height of her shoulders..Oh...im sorry..she said with nervous voice and held the book out and...she looked away in grief...dam first impression.

He quickly snatched the book out of her hand and wiped his wet eyes. No, im sorry, my mom always told me to be nice to girls he looked at her agian with a smile on his face You still havent told me your name he was hoping she wouldnt make him chase her again, because, he probably wouldnt even try.

She was surprised that he decided to apoligize..A mom sounds nice..to tell you things like that..SHe asurred him with another giggle, not noticing she had just said a mom, instead of saying your mom...

...........My name is..Cora, Cora Kessling..She finally reveled..but she looked down cause she was still curious about the book..

Holden held the book out to her Here you go Cora, you can see it if youd like Holden could tell something was bothering her, he wasnt sure if it was the book or not, but, if it was he didnt want her to go all day like that. Honestly he held th book out and kinda shook it too.

Cora took it with a hesitation, She had almost made someone cry..felt a bit guilty but she accepted it from him..Looking at the cover..Huh?...Is this just the basics??? SHe asked with a raised eyebrow, but didnt wait for a reply and headed on with quickly looking thru its contents, which looked like skimming.

Well, yea he walked over and stood next to her. Think of it like a pyramid, the bottom has to support the rest, i wana have a good hold on the basics before i advance Holden almost felt intelligent from what he just said, its a great thing when you realize you still have th power to suprise yourself.

Cora suddenly shut the book closed. Well this is an informing little booklet...SHe said, taking Holden's hand and placing the book safely on it. Well...thats one way to think of it...Or think like a puzzle she said as a matter of factly..U just learn the amatuer bluilding blocks and then fill in the blanks along the way. SHe giggled again, holding her hand in a peace sign, she was right...in a twisted way.

She had a way more insightful way of thinking about it. Here he pushed the book at her You can have it, ive had enough of the basics, besides, i have another copy at the house he smiled at her and hoped she wouldnt reject his proposal.

Having the book back into her hands she questioned why she would take it..SHe hoped he wasnt lying about the copy...BUt on the other hand, it could be of some sort of sentimental value..
Cora held the book at her fingertips, then put it in an open pocket of her carriers bag, it still sticking out..

I sure hope u do have that copy..she mumbled..ANd then she looked up and grabbed Holden's face. U know...SHe said, kinda just holding his face up U should smile more happily, not modestly!..Besides, it just makes ur cheeks more tired..She finished while looking slightly away.

He was about to say something when he was interrupted by his aunt Holden its time to coem inside he looked over at Cora Uuum, i gotta go he pointed at the book study hard then he took off running.

Cora waved silently as he ran off..Then she looked up at the sky, grasping the book in the bag.
